ECLIPSE SECURITY DESIGNS AND INSTALLS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS AT SENIOR LIVING BUILDINGS; WEINBERG MANOR EAST AND WEST

Eclipse Security, Inc. has been chosen to provide safety and security systems at both Weinberg Manor East and West in Baltimore, MD. The properties previously known as Har Sinai Apartments on Fords Lane and owned by CHAI have two buildings for a total of 294 apartments and are designated senior friendly high rise buildings.

CHAI: Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.'s goals include assuring that these buildings can safely and comfortably house our community's senior adults for generations to come and provide well-managed buildings, with services that support active and healthy living for the residents. Weinberg Senior Living provides quality, affordable apartments for seniors and younger residents with disabilities. Weinberg Senior apartments were developed by CHAI, a local non-profit developer with the support of the Weinberg Foundation and other partners whose goal is to provide affordable housing to as many senior residents as possible, while offering compassion and support by connecting them to campus services and activities.

Aaron Kahn, owner of Eclipse Security, Inc. enjoyed the system design process for the property due to the unique factors needed to consider based on Orthodox Jewish tenants in both buildings. “It was necessary for us to provide a secure and safe building but we also needed to respect that from Friday night at sundown at the beginning of Shabbat until it concludes on Saturday night at sundown, technology couldn’t play an active part. This includes walking underneath or by a camera and not having to use any electronic devices to move throughout the property. We were able to meet this requirement by the use of a Sabbath door and properly positioning all equipment”, said Kahn.

Eclipse will install a CCTV system equipped with Honeywell cameras and a Remote Eyes DVR which will monitor certain areas of the buildings and certain access points to the property. The residents will be equipped with a Tel-Tron Emergency Call System that includes pull stations in all rooms along with a wireless pendant they can carry throughout the building. Should a senior need assistance, the pendant or pull station will notify the appropriate party immediately. Also included in the security design is a Honeywell Win-Pak access control system that will better control those gaining access to the building.
