IRVINE NATURE CENTER SELECTS ECLIPSE SECURITY, INC.
AS THEIR SECURITY INTEGRATOR AND GREEN BUILDING PARTNER

BALTIMORE, MD - Jan. 28, 2008 -Eclipse Security, Inc., a provider and integrator of security technology, is pleased to announce a partnership with the Irvine Nature Center to customize an environmentally conscious integrated security solution for Irvine’s new facility set to open in the Summer of 2008.  

“From our first meeting with the staff at Irvine it was obvious they wanted a vendor who shared their enthusiasm about constructing their new facility in a manner that was as environmentally aware as possible," says Mike Beery, account executive for Eclipse Security, Inc.  "We are committed to providing a solution that meets their budgetary requirements without jeopardizing the primary focus of the project," he continued.  As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Eclipse Security, Inc. is one of the few security providers in the region that customizes “green” security solutions for its clients.

The new Irvine Nature Center is a proposed 17,200-square-foot building that will sit on 116 acres of land off Garrison Forest Road in the Caves Valley area of Baltimore County.  “The goal of the new center is not only to be environmentally friendly but to show others how they can adapt their own properties to be environmentally friendly too," says Peggy O'Neill, interim executive director of Irvine Nature Center.  "We were impressed that Eclipse Security shared our environmental vision but also took the time to explain our different options and the long term expansion capabilities that were available to us," she continued.
 
Designers are striving to make the center as green as is practicable. Irvine's nature store will be topped by a living roof.  Living roof buildings utilize rooftop gardens to reduce storm water runoff and to provide insulation, ultimately reducing energy consumption and removing pollutants from rainwater.  In addition, Irvine's new parking lot will be made from a "pervious" surface - a more porous form of asphalt that allows rainwater to pass through to the ground.
 
The new facility is expected to be fully operational in September 2008.
